That can’t be true…what is being called ‘western’ is simply the materialism of the modern world and not uniquely Western…if I took a survey of shoppers at any of the major shopping malls in Johannesburg I doubt if I’ll get a different result.

Sam Azasu yes Prof the term “western” is used loosely to describe capitalism and its variations.
In short the post is lamenting the fact that we’ve created a society and system which dictates that your worth/value as a human being is tied mostly to the economic value (money or wealth) you generate.

Sam Azasu and Tabane Ramasala, I’ve read your comments.
I’ve also personally advised some of the richest and most powerful people in the world, including the richest and most powerful of them all, Harry Oppenheimer whose wealth when he died on 19 August 2000 would make Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos look like paupers, the same with Warren Buffett who earlier in the year, May 2000 to be more precise, acquired Ben Bridge Jewelers, ensuring Buffett’s allegiance.
Consequently, I talk from experience that the two of you as well as those writing and applauding, “western cultures believe …” are either very ignorant or bought.
No one likes to hear that they lack common sense unless they have been bought and do not care what others think.
My experience also tells me three other things.
First, tell it the way it is, and this reduces the possibility of people digging in their heels because the stubborn person can only be responded to with a nod and a smile.
Second, we are not alone in this world and this fact of life, has intrigued the smartest of us humans from the beginning, and still we don’t have the answer which everyone can agree on, even though it is so obvious given how we cannot predict totally unpredictable nature who time and again reminds us with coincidences that can never be predicted otherwise they are not coincidences, but we are too busy making babies and money to pay attention to what is hiding in plain sight.
Third, in the right environment where everyone is seated safely and also given the opportunity to express their opinion, the people will choose to be educated right.
We just need to have everyone agreeing that the truth must come first when educating the children, not on how to mince their words because that is politician-lawyer talk, but rather to have the best experts in the world explain how we as a society, a race of humans priding ourselves on being civilized, allowed the earth to be so recklessly spent while the number of multibillionaires has skyrocketed.
Note that I tag my 92 year old fb friend Solly Krok, who along with his identical twin brother Abe, a chemist, were multibillionaires long before Solly engaged me back in 1989, when I was 32 years of age, to do a review of his international holdings; and 6 years later, 1995, I assisted him further on an investment that was fast heading south because the person Solly had trusted to run the trade show business simply put his interests ahead of Solly’s.
In fact the human is really not as selfish as we have been brainwashed by Wall Street to believe.
The best example prior to the introduction of Crypto currencies which are literally made out of thin air and not even a semblance of integrity, are the highly sophisticated email money solicitations out of Nigeria that we have all received at least once; and one many of us remember tells us about a rich aunt who has recently died and you just need to reply back to collect your winnings.
Do you think you could do a better job of looking so stupid that most everyone would not only laugh, but talk about the foolishness with their family and friends?
Can you think of another example of false propaganda that achieves similar objectives?

Sam Azasu and Tabane Ramasala, I have now made a backup of this wall, just in case.
It is now 5:14 PM on the west coast of the United States, the day after Christmas that for most humans is extremely depressing with not everyone returning presents they don’t like.
My area of expertise, military economics does not mean I am a novice when it comes to understanding human behavior.
If you want to get a jump on others who don’t have all this knowledge while thinking of the many out there who do, but they are not speaking because of selfish reasons, and the ones not talking, you know have not shared this knowledge with you, may I suggest you read up on Marc Rich, the oil trader.
I only make small mention of Matt Damon and John Krazinski who back in July 2018, long before Covid 19, were all set to star in a Hollywood blockbuster movie based on Swiss author-investigative journalist, Daniel Ammann’s 2009 best seller, King of Oil: The Secret Lives of Marc Rich, until I contacted Damon’s Hollywood lawyer, Sam Fischer Esq. and pointed out the fatal flaws in Ammann’s book.
Nor has Ammann responded to my enquiries, other than with silence.

The word “confound” may best describe how the two of you are feeling.
How do you think Matt Damon and John Krazinski are feeling after having to dump their guaranteed hugely successful monetarily movie project?
How do you think they would feel now if watching everything unfold in real time, waiting for the two of you to speak up?
You can see that the bigger your audience, the more you watch your words.
You also know that when you start losing your mind, it is hard to remember things and you start talking a lot of nonsense that is a consequence of trashing your mind when choosing denial.
The one example I found on Google for “confound” is one that I like:
“the inflation figure confounded economic analysts”
The right question, I believe, is whether the economic analysts were confused because they were stupid or bought?

You would expect that to be the case with everyone who read my 4 articles published in the Jerusalem Post, Israel’s most well known international newspaper, and pulling no punches, immediately following the treason pardon on 20 January 2001, of international terrorist financier Marc Rich who also served to help spread anti-Semitism which is of course a distraction, and ugly as are the rest.
That is not to suggest that those who knew me before 1 February 2001, such as Solly Krok thought I made no sense.
But those articles were a turning point.
When you read them you will perfectly understand why.
